In addition to President Obama to being the first Black President, he has done so much over the past 8 years to ensure the well being and civil rights of Americans throughout this great nation. He has tried his best and I have to say it has been an honor to have been under his administration. Though it was not without its difficulties and hurdles, he tried despite the oppositions facing him to prevent him from fulfilling the promises he made even before he held office.
I am trying not to cry because he has meant so much to me and not just as an African American, but as a woman and a human being. He has done so much especially in regards to health:
Affordable Care Act
(Technically made up of two laws: The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (P.L. 111-148) & the Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act of 2010 (P.L. 111-152). See article on Affordable Care Act.)
Justice for All Re-authorization Act of 2016 (S. 2577)
Mental Health Reform Act of 2016 (S. 2680)
Sexual Assault Survivor’s Bill of Rights (H.R. 5578)
The Helping Families in Mental Health Crisis Act (H.R. 2646)
The 21st Century Cures Act (H.R. 34)
It’s too hard to say good-bye to such a good man who all but wanted to help his fellow American be their their very best.
